Dance Marathon at SDSU hosted its annual Aztec Night on September 23, 2022. Everyone was transported into the “Upside Down” for the night with this year's Stranger Things themed event. The event featured many highlights including 80s themed arcade games, Dance Marathon trivia, ‘Surfer Boy Pizza,’ Elle’s famous waffles, strangely awesome lemonade, dancing to some oldies, and more! All these attractions, plus the many themed photo opportunities, contributed to the “Upside Down” experience.. Throughout the night there were also several raffles with many people taking home some cool prizes including AirPod Max headphones, a JBL speaker, concert tickets donated by Cal Coast Credit Union, and more! There was also some incredible new merch dropped throughout the evening. The merch included creative stickers, a themed cup, and a fantastic tote bag. It was such a fun night and it has made everyone even more excited for Miracle Week!

Another highlight of the night was definitely having our Rady Rockstar, Kaelin, there! Kaelin was treated at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California so it was great having him and his family at Aztec Night. He was accompanied by his parents and younger brother, Kingston. So many people got to meet Kaelin and experience what a rockstar he truly is. We look forward to seeing Kaelin and his family again at future events.
There were hundreds of attendees at the event who got to learn more about Dance Marathon and the powerful movement this organization really is. DM is more than a dance, more than a marathon, more than a number, more than a 1,2,3, and more than just any one of us. DM is a movement, it is one generation fighting for the next. The energy at all Dance Marathon events are magical and Aztec Night did not disappoint, the night felt like pure magic. A big thank you to all those that came to Aztec Night and we hope to see you throughout Miracle Week!
