History
DM at SDSU was founded in the fall of 2014 by SDSU alumna Emily Carper as a fundraiser for Greek Week. Emily was inspired by another dance marathon program and wanted to bring the movement to SDSU. DM at SDSU's first board had 28 members and an ambitious goal of putting on the first event in the spring of 2015. The event was planned in just three short months and raised over $40,000. Since then, DM at SDSU has grown every year to its current size of 58 board members, over 1,600 participants, countless donors, and supporters, and almost $1.2 million raised For The Kids.
*DM at SDSU was initially founded as Aztec Dance Marathon, however, this name was changed in the 2018-2019 year to be more inclusive of our entire SDSU community.
